Mat is a Fire Prevention Inspector with the Burlington Fire Department (BFD) in the Fire Prevention Division. Mat has been an Inspector for over 12 years and is responsible for administering the Ontario Fire Code, tasks including but are not limited to: actively conducting inspections, fire safety plan reviews, managing fire safety complaints, pre-incident emergency planning and other technical application to a variety of condominium buildings in Burlington from low-rise, mid-rise to high-rise buildings. Mat is Vice President with Chapter 6 of the Ontario Municipal Fire Prevention Officers’ Association (OMFPOA) to which functions in Hamilton, Halton and Peel regions. Mat values the on-going relationship building with property managers in our collectively striving for fire safe buildings.
